Before you start: travel light
If you arrive with a suitcase or check out early, leave your luggage at a locker in the centre. Granada is all slopes and cobblestones: you will be glad to move hands-free all day.
Morning: the Alhambra
Start strong. Book an early time slot (remember: fixed entry time for the Nasrid Palaces) and spend about 3 hours on the Palaces, the Generalife and the Alcazaba. Go up light: large bags are not allowed inside.
Midday: Cathedral, Alcaicería and tapas
Head down to the centre and wander the Cathedral and Royal Chapel, the Alcaicería (the old silk market) and Plaza Bib-Rambla. The perfect moment for a beer with a free tapa, a very Granada tradition.
